Fiat is an Italian automobile manufacturer that was founded in 1899 in Turin, Italy by a group of local investors and entrepreneurs, with Giovanni Agnelli as the primary founder. Agnelli, who came from a prominent family, was driven by a deep passion for the automotive industry, as evidenced by his quote A prime motivation for me is love—and I love cars.
Turin, the birthplace of Fiat, is considered the cradle of the Italian automotive industry, home to iconic brands such as Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Pininfarina, and Italdesign.
Fiat has a long history of pioneering in the electric vehicle market, with early concepts like the X1/23 dating back to the mid-1970s. The company has continued to innovate, launching the electric 500e in 2013.
In 1936 Fiat launched the Topolino, meaning Little Mouse
in Italian, which was the world's smallest mass-produced car. Today, Fiat pays homage to this historic model with a new electric Topolino.
